The famous bio-artist, collaborator at the Church Laboratory of the Harvard Medical School and research affiliate in the Department of Biology at MIT will conduct a workshop and give a public lecture in the framework of the Ural Industrial Biennial.
During the three days of the workshop, Davis and the participants will attempt to create the most stable and long-lived archive of messages from humankind using salt from Tyretskoe deposit and message-bearing halophiles.
Davis’s projects become test sites for his scientist colleagues. Not all his artistic endeavours are application-oriented, but each of them inspires the participants to learn new methods and develop the scientific imagination.
