Biennial tours are a series of free excursions and visitor programmes that take place in August and September 2019 as part of the 5th Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art. Residents and guests of Ekaterinburg will be offered four out-of-town and three city routes.

Guests will be able to visit four towns in Sverdlovsk Oblast: Sysert, Asbest, Polevskoy and Nizhny Tagil.

Walking tours will tell residents the story of the largest regional project in the field of contemporary art – the Ural Industrial Biennial – through the history of its main venues, located on the main street of Ekaterinburg.

The second walking tour will show you the heart of Uralmash district—the Square of the First Five-Year Plan (Ploshad Pervoy Pyatiletky): you will learn about the history of the Uralmash plant, its avant-garde side, and the most ambitious experiments of the Biennial associated with the district.
